Fine Gael Councillor Michael Murphy has welcomed the news that An Bord Pleanála has approved planning permission for the National Children’s Hospital to go ahead on the St James’ Campus in Dublin.
“I very much welcome the announcement that the National Children’s Hospital will go ahead at the St James’ Hospital site. This is great news for all of the sick children of Ireland and for their parents.
“All agencies involved must ensure that the National Children’s Hospital is delivered as soon as possible.
“The National Children’s Hospital will provide a high tech state of the art facility. It will include 42 beds in a critical care unit, 18 neonatal critical care units and 380 single in-patient rooms, operating theatres and an emergency department.
“We have been talking about the new children’s hospital for so long now, it is extremely satisfying to see that planning permission has finally been permitted and that the real work of building the hospital can now begin,” concluded Cllr Murphy
